This is a 2-CD set covering the whole of Denbighshire as it was in 1841, but note that there are large parts of the county for which the National Archives do not have the census return books. Please click on the View Online button and have a look at the area index before ordering this set (you do not need to register or login just to browse the area index) and check that the part(s) you wish to look at are not marked as MISSING, as these are not included on the CDs.
If the area you want does appear in there and is not missing, you can order the set as normal, but please mention in the Notes box on the order form that you have checked the index already, as this will save time and avoid us getting in touch with you to check first! Thank you.
The images are in greyscale DjVu format, with a browser plugin supplied on the CDs for viewing via Internet Explorer or similar web browser (you do not need to be online to use this).
The supplied DjVu viewer works on nearly all PCs running Windows 98 or newer. Most Mac and Linux setups can download a free viewer from the web - see www.lizardtech.com and www.djvuzone.org for more information.
